Some Silences Are Still Cooking
We often mistake silence for an answer.
When someone doesn’t reply, our minds become excellent storytellers.
“They’re losing interest.”
“I must have said something wrong.”
“Maybe I don’t matter anymore.”
But not every silence is empty.
Some silences are simply unfinished.
Some people think before they speak.
Some are trying to understand what they feel.
Some are carrying things they haven’t found words for yet.
And some are just living ordinary lives between extraordinary conversations.
Silence becomes painful only when we insist on filling it with our own fears.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is to leave a little space.
Not because we stop caring.
But because we trust that not every meaningful sentence arrives immediately.
Just like bread needs time to rise…
Perhaps some conversations do too.
Some silences…
are still cooking.
Not every silence is a goodbye.
Some are simply thoughts that aren't ready to be served yet.
